I received the following email from AJ:

Dear Cooney Robotics Team 269,

I’m AJ Johnson and I’m living in The Netherlands right now, in the small city of Zwolle about an hour east of Amsterdam. For the next 5 months, I will be working for an American Company called Abbott Laborites as an intern. I’m working on a project where I’m relating the product life cycle to supply chain management; it’s a very tough internship too. I had a very hard time finding my internship, but with my past experience in my life (robotics and other experiences) I knew I had to work just a bit harder to get such a great internship.

I spent my freshmen year studying at UW Platteville and I will go back to Platteville this fall to study. I’m studying International Business and renewable energy, but at the end of the day I just want to be a salesman. During my sophomore year I have been studying abroad in The Netherlands for the last 6 months, but now I will apply what I have learned from my studies to the real world as an intern.

Maybe some people on the team still know who I am. I hope the team is still strong and is still getting things done on time. I was on the team for 4 years and I did a few things for the team over my 4 years, but I spent most of my time working with fundraising and investing in Cooney Robotics future with starting the VEX Robotics program.

The most beneficial experience I had in robotics was leaving my mark not on a robot or on the shipping crate, but within people. With the amazing help of others I was able to leave my mark within the students that come in the future. The mark I left was with the VEX Robotics teams at the different schools. As I’m living in The Netherlands I can look at the Cooney Robotics web page and see the VEX Robotics pictures from this year. That makes me really proud of being on the team because it’s something that I did with the help of many other people to leave a lasting mark on the future of the team. I was never that good at working on the robot or working in the shop, but I still left my mark. I challenge each student to think about what they can do to leave a lasting impression on Oconomowoc High School, the Cooney Robotics team, or what ever they feel is important in their life. I wish you all good luck and I hope you all can get some sleep too. (But don’t forget sleep is for the weak)

Enjoy

AJ Johnson

PS. Has anyone sold more entertainment books then me yet?
Mr. Blersch has confirmed that AJ is in fact still the record holder for selling entertainment books.
